Dada Shango at The Coronation Tap
£3

A gig held at The Coronation Tap on Tuesday 10th January. The event starts at 20:00.

An eclectic mix of rootsy and contemporary acoustic music, Dada Shango is the new project from'Mean Blue Monsters' Chris D'Avoine and Jack Carver. With songs from such diverse sources as Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Led Zeppelin, Muddy Waters, The Doors, Richard Thompson and Jethro Tull, as well as some atmospheric original material, Dada Shango deliver a heady cocktail of blues, folk and cross-cultural guitar noodlings, with African and Arabian-style backbeats. With extensive use of tunings and improvisations on both 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, against driving and hypnotic Djembe and Darbouka rhythms, Dada Shango take you on a bewildering musical journey from Arabian desert to American Everglade, from African plains to English hills, from ancient Persia and Mesopotamia to contemporary urban angst.
