SLIPPIN’ - DnB TIX OTD at Crofters Rights

A clubnight held at The Croft on Friday 5th July. The event starts at 23:00.

Yes yes! After two fantastic inaugural sessions to get our night rolling, SLIPPIN' is back for a summer dance at The Crofters Rights to bring you those positive and uplifting Drum & Bass flavours.

In case you didn’t know, we’re a new D&B night that’s looking to present fresh and classic groove-tinged, soulful and funky Drum & Bass flavours. Liquid (funk), Rollers, Deeper bits and anything that’s not too cheesey ya dig? A clubnight for those who like it smooth and rolling but also smooth and tough/heavy!!

We’re inspired by the golden era ‘Liquid' sounds of the 2000’s that were championed by the legendary Fabio back in his Radio 1 days. Looking back to look forwards, we want to present the full range of Drum & Bass flavours that in essence are exact opposite of the jump-up 500 drops an hour nonsense you see a lot of hype around right now. It’s ok to take your time. We love a good mix & blend! We love musical music! We love proper drums! ‘DEEPER’ is the mantra.

So for the third Slippin’ we present three local Bristol DJs and producers who know exactly what’s up!

Ephyra:

Having absorbed nearly 10yrs of Bristols underground music scene, Ephyra has gone from strength to strength with her production & music curation, with releases on reputable labels such as Pilot Records, Precinct & Incurzion Audio. Ephyras love of raw, emotive, gritty & rolly sonics reflect deeply in both her production and sets, so expect to be in for a bit of a journey that leans heavily towards underground flavours!

Chamba:

With wicked selections as DJ, Chamba is also a producer and mentor. His distinct and delicate approach to Drum & Bass has been making waves recently with premieres on both UKF and Drum&BassArena amogst others. The Bristol based artist also owns and runs the online education platform the 'Music Producer Bible’ that strives to empower the next generation of producers to express themselves truthfully and confidently pursue a career in music. Chamba is a total dude and and a great fit for Slippin’ !

Nathan Worm:

Nathan has been a Bristol based DJ, promoter, curator and presenter or music for over 12 years now. Founder of funky music party and platform 'Worm Disco Club’ Nathan also started the clubnight ‘Bubble’ in 2022 for more contemporary electronic sounds outside of DnB and now brings Slippin’ as a reflection of his preferences when it comes to DnB and the Junglist movement!
Anything with a bit of groove or well good drums and or some soul or character and Nathan is into it or plays it! Nathan started clubbing during the 2002-2006 heyday of the original ‘Liquid’ era and loves the sounds and variation of styles that were on offer during this period.
