Out of Love - London
FFO: Title Fight, Basement, Drug Church
"Forming a band one month before a global pandemic forces the world to completely shut down is far from ideal. While timing wasn’t on their side, London five-piece Out Of Love are a case study in how, once again, timing isn’t always important when it comes to punk music. Last year saw them release their debut EP ‘I Am Not Me’ to admirable success, with ample coverage from the likes of Rock Sound, Kerrang! and even boasting spins on BBC Radio 1. Looking to continue their upwards trajectory with the forthcoming ‘Funny Feeling’ EP, Out Of Love rattle through their five new songs at a breakneck speed, wasting no time in letting you know what they’re about." - Aaron Jackson, PUNKTASTIC
High Praise - Brighton
FFO: Citizen, Gnarwolves, Nothing
"At first glance, High Praise are a brand new power-punk band often led by Gnarwolves’ Charlie Piper. Dig deeper, and there’s a scuzzy heaviness more vitriolic than the distinguished former sound would suggest.
Taking in discordant patches of Pixies and Jawbreaker, Another Day is a thought-out and powerful step into defiant but still self-deprecating adolescent minds. ‘Gimme’ grasps instantly on a Weezer-goes-grunge sound, but ‘Smile’ scratches away at a helplessness while branding themselves ‘subterranean down and outers’; a line which aptly coins the band’s debut EP."

Oversize - South West
FFO: Superheaven , Smashing Pumpkins , Basement
Oversize draw inspiration not only from American alt-rock big hitters such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr, but also from closer to home in the UK’s home-grown sounds of New Wave, Shoegaze and even 90s Britpop. Formed just before the pandemic took hold, the alternative Bristol 5-piece used the unprecedented free time afforded by lockdown to forge a cohesive and unique sound with a litany of boutique pedals, a rock-solid rhythm section and soaring vocal melodies. Not ones to sit idle, after recording their first (yet to be released) EP ‘In Balance’ at the end of 2020, Oversize kept honing their songwriting and will return to The Ranch Production House in Southampton to cut their second EP at the end of the summer.
