MX Lonely formed in 2022 out of the ashes of other projects. Rae Haas (lead vocals/synth), Jake Harms (vocals/guitar) and Gabriel Garman (bassist and producer/engineer) sought to create a heavier, more aggressive version of a home recording project Haas x Harms had begun a few years before. Their music internalizes the ethereality of shoegaze and a love for the icy aggression of post punk and noise rock, while retaining traditional songwriting sensibilities (Elliott Smith being a formative influence). Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, MX has been touring nationally since early 2024, with supporting slots for Trauma Ray, Midrift, The Dirty Nil, Cryogeyser and The Used, among others.
