In July 2001 the Detectives of Perspective began hosting parties at the Croft (then named'The Comedy Pub') that aimed to create a very involving experience for the audience; Video projections, art, live and turntable based music and even a massive indoor geodesic dome! 10 years later in July 2011 the Detectives of Perspective are heading back to that same venue to show you where we're at now and where we're heading...
In that ten years DOP have hosted parties, turntable battles, festival stages, radio shows and the world's only Solid Steel residency. DOP also gave a platform to countless local acts and brought to Bristol a massive roster of world class artists such as; DJ Shadow, Senor Coconut, Mixmaster Mike, Roots Manuva, Hexstatic, Death In Vegas, Cut Chemist, Peter Parker, Steinski, Herbaliser, Coldcut, DJ Krush, Qemists, The Bug, King Cannibal, DJ Vadim and more. Strictly Kev and DK were an obvious choice of headliner for this show. Since first bringing Kev to Bristol around 7 years ago we have built a great relationship with Ninja Tune and brought acts from the label to the Bi-Monthly Solid Steel for over 5 years.
In that time Food and DK have produced two highly acclaimed mix CDs in'Now Listen' and'Now Listen Again' and have gone on to push boundaries further taking on another dimension and performing live video mixing on 4 decks and 3 mixers. Described as'Video Turntablism', it has become a way for Food & DK to visualise their already legendary DJ sets. As usual, it's the diverse mix of music that they love and are known for, taking in current club floor fillers, but also making room for classic tracks. Now great friends to the DOP this pair of Ninjas are sure to send the party into the stratosphere with their future beats and eye-popping visuals in such relatively intimate surroundings.

Flying in direct from Dublin, the king of electro swing DJ Kormac presents his all new audio visual show. Since releasing his debut album'Wordplay' Kormac has been touring with his big band (including a barbershop quartet) at festivals worldwide and continuing his own'Bakesale' nights in Ireland. Since then he's been working hard with VJ supremo, Q the Monkey, to produce a turntable based AV show taking in tracks from the album as well as some tracks that influence and inspire him.

DJ Cheeba
From origins as the youngster know as'Scratchy' to the Detectives, Cheeba has gone on to become an AV artist and turntablist travelling worldwide performing showcases and producing progressive videos that have caught the eye of everyone from Hexstatic to Z-Trip and DJ Shadow. Cheeba's audio visual show will twist sight and sound into a blend of beats and breaks cut with visual material from the far reaches of moving image history. No doubt he'll roll out something special for this night... "You down with DOP? "

The Allstars are at the core of the DOP. The organisers, stage managers, door staff, poster & flyer bombers, promo writers, graphic designers all also double up as Bristol's all star turntable tag team... skilled and highly experienced they are a team who never fail to ignite the party with style for miles. Over 10 years of residents will be present to represent on the turntables and share stories over coffee and donuts.
