Kodak Kreed #8: Borai, Proc Fiskal, Corrupt Data at Crofters Rights

A clubnight held at The Croft on Thursday 31st January. The event starts at 23:00.

We take over Crofters for our first party of the year, on the night we have joining us ⬇

Borai:
Bristol soundman Borai comes with a reputation for being a hardened selector and a versatile producer synonymous with making high-quality music. Whether it be Jungle, Techno, Acid, Rave or Breakstep, he’s done it and done it well on labels like Hotline, Apple Pips & Happy Skull. He’s recently started co-running his own imprint ‘Higher Level Records’. Here they have a policy of ‘test-driving’ their possible forthcoming releases at their own dance before they cut the plate at Dub Studio, alongside nearly two decades experiencing DJing and running his own nights, you get this energy put in behind the scenes channelling into his DJ sets.

Proc Fiskal:
The man behind some of the most exciting releases we’ve heard over the past year or so. Laying down his sharp sound palette effortlessly over countless tracks spanning around 140 to 170 bpm and gaining critical acclaim in the process. He put together a grime concept album ‘Insula’, released on Hyperdub as well as releasing an EP on Cosmic Bridge and he recently featured on the latest edition of the impressive Astrophonica compilation series, he isn’t bound by the constraints of tempo. Expect to hear a medley of his sample-heavy, choppy and warping productions accompanied by tracks coming anywhere from the Deep South to Durban. You never know what’s coming next on his tracks, expect the same with his set on the night.

Corrupt Data:
Championing the energy from an era that has become a focal point in recent times for its futurism and ideals, outlets like Corrupt Data are a huge contributor to the returning rise of hardcore in its many forms. They champion the best parts of producers sounds from a variety of genres and use these talents to put together releases and mixes that sound unique, and that have gathered praise from the likes of Red Bull Music and Insert, as well as Aphex Twin playing the track ‘Runnerz’ by Bakground from their ‘HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE’ compilation. Expect the finest in ‘Dance Floor Technology’’ for their debut.

Iceman:
Our resident holding it down on the night will be Iceman. He’ll will be taking you through your paces with a 160 set travelling through footwork, weirdstep, trap and other high-bpm gems.
