"We’re so glad Sicaria Sound reunited — if there’s two people we want to hear shelling Crofters with 140, dubstep and grime instrumentals it’s these two women…"

Amity are back for another installment at the Crofter's Rights. This time around, we'll be inviting certified chest-rattlers, Sicaria Sound.
Partners in crime via music and sisters through their friendship, Sicaria Sound aka Imbratura and Ndeko are the twice-as-nice dynamic duo firing up a soundsystem near you. As comfortable providing rattling low frequencies as they are headsy homages to hip hop or frenetic percussion-driven heaters, you can count on them to supply forward-thinking electronic sounds teetering around 140bpm.
Rooted in London with Moroccan and South Sudanese heritage between them, after initially meeting at the back of a university lecture hall the pair quickly became inseparable, fused partly by a shared penchant for the bassier spectrum of sounds. Deciding to live together, two rusty 1210s turntables were then supplemented by a CDJ set up: Neither noise-hating neighbours brandishing baseball bats nor the lack of initial support could hold them back. But it wasn’t until Outlook Festival’s 2015 edition that any inkling of taking things seriously began after being reminded of the acute lack of representation within the genres they loved. It was time to step things up a notch: ‘Sicaria Sound’ was born.
Having jointly fallen into radio production jobs after university, soon came co-piloting a regular show of their own. Little did they know that this first forage into presenting was to be a definitive move into being tastemakers of innovative low-end heavy sounds from the get-go, or that later on down the line their prime time monthly residency slot on Rinse FM would gain a global cult following. The pair have also since appeared on BBC Radio 1 & 1xtra, NTS and Red Bull Radio as well as been part of Mixmag’s Impact series and DJ Mag’s Ones To Watch & On Cue installments.
