Genevieve Miles + Joely + SEBASTIAN
A gig
held at The Croft
on Wednesday 24th May. The event starts at 19:30.
Crofters Rights - Room 2
Genevieve Miles' first Bristol headliner for a year.
Genevieve's funk and dance influences blend with her trademark psychedelic alternative pop elements, creating a sound inspired by the likes of Parcels, Talking Heads & Khruangbin. ‘Good,’ her most recent single, was first launched on the new Hyundai advert in June 2022, and accumulated over a million views. Miles’ songwriting and live show continue to grow in maturity, as she begins to openly refuse to adhere to any rules, taking on rock, jazz and reggae influences.
Joely
Alt-folk meets indie pop, Joely’s music feels like a warm hug from an older sister. Think the modern folk of Billie Marten & Julia Jacklin, meets the indie rock guitars of early Coldplay, meets the classic country of 70's Fleetwood Mac. Her songs tell the tale of adolescence, relationships and mental health in modern society through light-hearted wit, soaked in slide guitar and soulful ear-worm melodies. You can listen to her latest EP Belonging out now everywhere.
SEBASTIAN
Seb Waters is an off kilter pop producer and vocalist. His music slides between Alt RnB, indie and trip-hop. A self proclaimed ‘gender bender’, Waters is a trans man who uses a drag persona to reclaim all of the joy that lies in femininity and silliness on stage. His first love, music, is a way for Seb to share and connect experiences, and to feel at one with the audience for a small segment of time. Warning: her songs may induce a state of silliness and euphoria in the brain that cannot be controlled or contained.
