Break for Lovers - Interim, Folketronic, Black Cat at The Croft

A gig held at The Croft on Wednesday 29th April. The event starts at 19:15.

Absolute cinema is hitting The Croft on the 29th of April. After a short hiatus, Break for Lovers are back for a Headline show. Alongside Interim, Folketronic & Black Cat.

Break for Lovers:
Break for Lovers returns for their brand new premiere set. The Bristol-based band bring back their sound of tender yet consuming music. There’s a closeness to it all, like fragments of conversations, half-remembered nights, and the spaces left behind. Their set is sure to evoke memories within, drawing out the soft edges of longing, where love lingers not as a certainty, but as a feeling that refuses to fade.

Interim:
Interim are a five-piece modern package of 70s psychedelic rock straight out of Bristol. Rather than revivalism, Interim treat psychedelic rock as a living form—structured, disciplined, and cinematic. Inspired by the likes of King Crimson and Pink Floyd, Interim are driven to continue the mind-bending soundscapes of the golden era of music by delivering sets compromising of soaring guitar work and entrancing rhythms. The band crafts immersive, long-form sets built to be cohesive and textural. They build momentum rather than nostalgia.

Folketronic:
Folketronic, a band that merges old school psychedelia with jazz and folk rock. The group focuses their attention to texturally, weaving layers upon songs written by Izaak Hare. With Noah Widdows on lead guitar, Angus Fussell on percussion / drums, & Fin Richards who provides the backbone on bass; Each member adds their authentic style to create a unique, dynamic performance.

Black Cat:
Black Cat are an up and coming Bristol-based trio, influenced by a wide range of genres, spanning from 90s dream-pop and grunge to 60s psychedelia and folk.

Whimsical and honest, their lyrics have an intimacy comparable to reading an angsty teen’s diary.

Soft vocals and delicate guitar parts are grounded by their melodic bass lines and a nutter on drums.
