Punch On / SMILE MORE / Roar at the Meteor at The Crown
See event details

A gig held at The Crown on Friday 18th August. The event starts at 19:30.

Misery is all that was left of mars. Rock, rubble, and discontent. Traversing the stratosphere, we have landed upon mercury - a land made of metal. For ET010 we present a raging blaze of glory. An impenetrable wall of sound shall be formed. Mighty and beautiful, all shall bow down to its magnificence. On Friday the 18th of August, the screams of Punch on! shall echo into eternity. The delirious sounds of SMILE MORE shall reverberate through the atmosphere. Roar at the meteor! shall lay destruction in their path.

DON’T BE A CLOWN.
HEAD TO THE CROWN.

Punch on!

Forever skewing the member-to-amplifier ratio, Bristol-based screamo duo Punch On! combine the ferocity of neo-crust with the emotive and rhythmic leanings of bands like Loma Prieta, Raein, and Birds in Row, and more recently noise informed by the burgeoning UK Noise scene. Formed in late 2016, their music contains off-kilter rhythms, extended chords, short sections, and screamed vocals. Punch On! Lyrically explore a range of topics, from the personal to the political; from lived experiences to perspectives on a changing world; love, anger, and anarchy. “I Have No History but the Length of my Bones” came out through Callous Records in March of 2018, followed by a tour of France and the Spanish state and an EP in 2019. Four-way split “Another Year in Hell” between Punch On!, Overo, Zochor, and Coma Regalia available from the respective artists and labels

SMILE MORE

Since their first appearance on the Bristol scene in 2019, SMILE MORE have quickly been gaining momentum. Their success alongside more established acts such as: Jonestown, Dark Cell, and Grove Warden, to name but a few, has enabled them to send their own brand of infectious hysteria surging through the South-West Distilling their love for macabre theatre, passion for showmanship, and their obsession for misfits into something entirely their own. They've developed a delectible blend of delirious, prog-inspired madness that continues to warp and evolve into something equal measure exciting and horrifying.

Featuring groove metal sensibilities combined with perishing vocals and scathing guitar licks, SMILE MORE have been cementing their place in the British Metal Scene. Having been described as 'West-end gone metal' by local critics, ey bolster their shows with bravado and theatrics aplenty pulling the audience into their realm. They cherish the crowds they play for and continue to exceed audience expectation; reminding performers and crowds alike that the joy of a live gig is unparalleled to merely listening at home.
