An evening of dark and light. Soundscapes as introspective as they are luscious, all the while immersing you, the listener. Extra Terrestrial Promotions and Weird Tears are proud to present Thraa - an improvisational duo, who form indestructible walls of sound, constructed by minimalist drone and soaring vocals. Working without the constrictions of a traditionally structured song, this duo improvise around meditative drones, combining Sunn 0))) influenced guitars with soaring vocals, capturing an organic sense of sound that
has cavernous textures with minimalism at heart.

While you could be fooled into thinking the tracks are meticulously notated compositions of heavy minimalism, their slowly unwinding, Sisyphean meditations are in fact recorded as single-take improvisations. The four pieces here will echo through your bones like the roar of a distant giant in a mythical valley and provide the warmth of a freshly flayed sheep’s skin. Bristol based 1/2 create large horizontal dronescapes using synthesis and field recordings. Never repeated semi-improvised compositions do not offer a narrative or closure. Building atmospheres of stasis and tension, 1/2 invite to immerse yourself in meditative landscape, without wanting a resolution. This is their first show.
