A
clubnight
on Saturday 7th May. The event starts at 20:00.
Our last party saw Deli and his nephew merging 2 generations of dance music into one special night - The party was dope, thanks to all who came.
This time we are taking it back - way way back - too where it began. Deli and Lynx - This is a history lesson.
DJ Lynx (B.A.D)
Lynx started out spinning soul & hip hop in the late 80's at Mozart's wine bar, playing the likes of Beastie Boys, Pee Wee Herman & Loose Ends. This lead to a spot on B.A.D. Radio, one of the first pirate stations in Bristol. He became a scratch DJ for Smith & Mighty & also joined forces with 2 Bristol MC's who were also doing tracks forming the hip hop crew 3PM. They had a number of releases with Smith & Mighty & were the first hip hop crew to release vinyl in Bristol.
As the 80's came to an end Lynx found himself focusing more on hip hop & soon landed a slot on Galaxy radio in the early 90's. This was quite revolutionary as no one was doing a live hip hop mix weekly on a legal radio station, in the South West & his show quickly became revered. Lynx brought Krissy Kriss & MC Kelz in on the show & the 3PM Experience was born.
Not long after Lynx got a residency at Players in Bath with Deli G, where they played House, Soul & Hip Hop. Lynx is from a school where you would hear House, Soul, Boogie, Hip Hop & Reggae at the same Jam so he already had a varied ear.
As Lynx & Deli progressed with the residency, Lynx's love for house grew, it was an exciting time for Dance music.
Lynx did house sessions when the rave scene arrived. He collected house from the late 80's to the mid 90's. It is these cuts he will be throwing down with his old friend Delli G at the next Blueprint session at the Doghouse
