Tankus the Henge is the London based, five wheeled, funk fuelled, open top, custom paint job, rock ‘n’ roll jalopy that comes careering round the corner on a tranquil summer’s day, ruining the silence and disturbing the bats.
Having played over 1000 shows all over the world the Tankus the Henge live experience is something to behold. Combining wild showmanship and musical dexterity their sound incorporates rock, funk, blues, ska, roots and gypsy rhythms and their songs tell stories of wonder and woe.
Since the release of their first album in 2013 the band has toured extensively across Europe and also become a favourite on the festival circuit.
Tankus the Henge have played at:
Glastonbury, Benicassim, WOMAD (UK and Gran Canaria), Isle of Wight, Boomtown, Montreux Jazz Festival, Latitude, Bestival, Les Fanfarfelues, Port Eliot, Shambala, Solfest, Artisti in Piazza, Waterford Spraoi, Secret Garden Party, Fusion, Beautiful Days and many more.
With their charismatic frontman, Jaz Delorean, looking like a lost character from a Terry Gilliam film Tankus the Henge launch into their live shows like a band possessed. They’ve left audiences breathless at headline shows including Scala, The Garage, The Borderline and The Jazz Café. They’ve featured on TV, in major advertising campaigns, toured Albania as emissaries for the British Council and made records in Nashville, Tennessee.
All the band’s singles, ‘Cakewalk’, ‘Recurring Dream’, ‘Smiling Makes The Day Go Quicker’ and ‘Weather’, have been featured extensively on radio including plays on Alex Lester’s Radio 2 show as well as Steve Lamacq and Chris Hawkins’ 6 Music shows.
“Energetic, original … excellent stage presence and varied, enchanting material … extremely deserving winners of the Bath Folk Festival New Shoots Competition 2016.”
- Bath Folk Festival
Young Water’s (previously Snufkin) twisted neo-folk is a tapestry of emotionally powerful vocals, stirring harmonies, lyrical violin solos and finely mastered acoustic guitar. Their exhilarating rhythms and intricate, weaving melodies, coupled with a repertoire that combines startling original material with traditional folk songs, makes for a captivating stage presence. This young band are set to make a big impact in 2017.
They burst onto the London / Bristol folk scene in 2015 and have been making a name for themselves with their live album, ‘Live from The Fayre’ (recorded live at Rollright Fayre). Following a host of festival appearances in 2016 (including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness, Boomtown and Smugglers) they have built a strong following. They rounded off the summer by winning Bath Folk Festival’s New Shoots competition, earning themselves a recording session at Peter Gabriel’s legendary Real World Studios and a prestigious headline slot at the 2017 Bath Folk Festival.
Young Waters is a five-piece band led by Theo Passingham (vocals and guitar) with Kerry Ann Jangle (vocals and percussion), Liam O’Connell (double bass and vocals), Calum Smith (violin) and Rowen Elliot (viola).
