Shallow Roots at The Grain Barge
£5 at the door

A gig held at The Grain Barge on Friday 24th May. The event starts at 20:00.

Shallow Roots are playing again after a break of over six months, due to the band leader Jonathan Hyams undergoing a kidney transplant this winter. So there's lots to celebrate - please come and join for a great evening of music and dancing. The band will be seven strong that evening and delighted to be playing again at the superb Grain Barge venue, the iconic boat moored up in Hotwells. As usual we are presenting a night of fantastic music, to listen or to dance, and in a venue where you can enjoy good company at The Grain Barge, Hotwell Rd, Bristol BS8 4RU. Friday 24th May from 8pm. Admission is just £5 at the door. Food is also available upstairs. The music has influences of Spanish folk, African pop, Latin music and western popular music. The combination of saxes and guitars makes a sound which is intimate and gentle yet also rhythmic and highly dance-able. On some of the songs, the amazing voice of Rosalind Moreno-Parra adds another exciting dimension.
