Lespectre +Douglas Joshua, H.Shepherd at The Grain Barge

A gig held at The Grain Barge on Thursday 11th April. The event starts at 19:30.

Lespectre are a five-piece atmospheric dream-pop band from Bristol.

The band began life as an experiment in songwriting for Tom Hackwell (guitar, vocals) and Max Perry (drums) - a vague attempt to create something phonically reminiscent of the dream-like verse of Clarice Lispector ('Lespectre' is an homage to the Brazilian writer).

The full band took shape with the addition of Becky Leach (vocals, keys, violin), Gary Walker (guitar) and Sam Winter-Quick (vocals, bass). The dreamy, atmospheric shoegaze sound of Lespectre was born.

The debut EP 'Atmospheric dream-pop from Bristol' is due for release 11/04/19 via Deaf Endling Records. The songs fit into a tradition of dreamy, atmospheric shoegaze, but push at and transcend those boundaries, existing as Deluezian multiplicities - we think they work.

Come and join us at our release show on one of Bristol's finest boat-venues, the Grain Barge.

CDs available at the show. The EP is now streaming on all major platforms.

Support from the excellent Douglas Joshua and H. Shepherd.

Doors 19:30. Free entry (donations welcome).
