An event on Saturday 19th September. The event starts at 13:00.
Mabon is a time of balance. The length of day and night is equal, the harvest is gathered, and nature begins to slow down. It's a chance to pause, reflect on the season so far, give thanks for what you've grown, and think about what you want to carry into autumn.
Gather with us at The Green House in Bedminster, Bristol for an afternoon of creativity, reflection, folk traditions and gentle ritual, guided by our lovely guest host, artist Amber Bardell.
What to expect
We'll start by settling into the space with a grounding meditation and a short introduction to Mabon and the Autumn Equinox. Using oracle cards and journalling prompts, you'll then be invited to reflect on the theme of balance.
Next, we'll move into a folk art session using Amber’s beautiful homemade paints, exploring colour, texture and symbolism inspired by the changing season. Amber makes paint from natural pigments like foraged rocks and soil, and sees their practice as working in direct collaboration with nature.
This workshop isn't about artistic perfection. It's about slowing down, connecting with our surroundings, and creating something meaningful with your hands. The session is suitable for complete beginners, as long as you’re up for having a go!
You’ll also craft your own clay talisman, a small keepsake inspired by the traditional themes of Mabon: balance, gratitude and protection.
We’ll finish making alongside some live folk music, creating space to wander, connect, admire each other's work and enjoy the atmosphere. We'll close with a reflection circle, sharing thoughts, creations and intentions before heading home ready for the new season. Please note: all sharing is optional and supportive!
This workshop is for you if...
* You want to mark the change in seasons and create meaningful rituals \ * You're craving a slow, intentional afternoon \ * You enjoy being creative without pressure or expectations \ * You're interested in folk traditions, nature and seasonal living \ * You want to reconnect with yourself after a busy summer \ * You love spending time with like-minded people
You'll leave with your own folk art piece, a handmade clay talisman, a fresh perspective on what balance means for you right now, and perhaps a few new connections too. Suitable for complete beginners as well as people who create regularly.

For this workshop we're delighted to be joined by talented local artist Amber Bardell. Amber creates paintings that celebrate the wisdom of the natural world. Their paintings feature characters and symbols, and celebrate the strange and beautiful nuances of being human on this amazing planet. Amber believes art is for everyone and is a form of communication, which we completely agree with! We can’t wait to share this beautiful afternoon with Amber and learn from them.
