Big Launch of BRISTOL LOOPERS COLLECTIVE at The Greenbank, Easton

A gig on Friday 15th February. The event starts at 20:00.

We are hyped to present a showcase of some of the finest and talented loopers in Bristol! With a range of genres from Reggae, Folk, Hip Hop, Classical and Soul to pumpin Techno and DnB, our in house line-up have curated a night to make you laugh, dance, and even volunteer to have your voice sampled into a song.

MIKE DENNIS

Mike Dennis is a classically-trained violinist whose boyhood love of Run DMC, Beastie Boys and Gangstarr led him to create a unique kind of string-heavy hip hop music he half-seriously refers to as Violinica. Performing using Jess (violin), a loop pedal and a cajon, Mike builds up layers of dense harmony and embellishes with thoughtful, energetic rhymes drawing inspiration from daily British life and the perils and profits of love with a geeky fanaticism for rhythm-bending and syncopation. You won't have seen an artist like this before.

UKULELE VAGABOND

The Ukulele Vagabond is a musician, poet and multimedia artist. Five years ago he began playing the Ukulele and released an album two years later. "Campfire Culture" was popular at first release and sold widely in the local area. Its blend of acoustic, folk-infused reggae and blues combined political satire and commentary with gentle acoustic instrumentation from the Ukulele Vagabond and other musicians. In the next few months he will be releasing "Ukureggae" a three track E.P of high production reggae and blues music with videos. Ukulele Vagabond also performs with Kev the Poet a local poet, rapper and bard of the druid order. They perform with a pedal by building dub Ukulele loops and singing and rapping over the top.
