Greenbank Folk Club Presents - Thorpe & Morrison
“Thorpe & Morrison are rapidly ascending - one of the finest young folk and roots duos out there. Incredibly entertaining, energetic, and brimming with musicianship.” - Global Traditions
Thorpe & Morrison (Harry Thorpe and Sean Morrison) are a contemporary fiddle/guitar duo formed in Birmingham, UK. They have toured around the United Kingdom and Europe to critical acclaim.
Having played together for over six years, this aspiring young duo have developed a joyful, sensitive and energetic approach to the music they create, and hope these sensibilities can be shared with others throughout the journey as they continue to grow. Their most recent album, Grass and Granite, was nominated by Fatea Records for instrumental album of the year 2024.
"a recording of spirit and pleasure that reads the memories and offers glimpses into a world of belonging anywhere you can call home." - Liverpool Sound and Vision
‘Sheer unbridled exhilaration’ - Folk London
The sound of Thorpe & Morrison comes in many forms. Expressive and energetic live performances combined with subtle and nuanced arrangements leave them well-placed in both festival and studio settings. Their love of storytelling and relaxed stagecraft, sees them weaving touching, sensitive, and witty narratives through their live sets; making the live Thorpe & Morrison a unique, comforting and connected experience.
For a floor spot, they will be joined by Darach.
Darach fuses the traditions of Galicia and Scotland into a sound that feels both timeless and new. Their music is a meeting place – where past and present flow together alive in the moment. Winners of the Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections, They made their sold-out Scottish debut at the Gathering South Sessions.
