ABOUT YETII
Yetii are an acoustic jazz trio playing original compositions and arrangements of popular tunes. Their monthly residency at the Greenbank sold out for every month in 2023.
The music combines flowing melodies with expansive group improvisations, interlocking grooves and evolving soundscapes. The band released their debut album in November 2022 to widespread critical acclaim with a 10 date UK tour and look forward to their second release later in 2024.
Alex Veitch (piano) has a current bimonthly residency at Ronnie Scott's and plays in Bristol with projects including MADLY, Family Business and Bristol Street Music. Ash (bass) is an award-winning virtuoso double bassist and composer and current lecturer at Cardiff University. Alex Goodyear (drums) is a recent graduate of jazz from Royal Welsh with sideman credits including John Law, Alex Meritt, and Victoria Klewin.
Bea is a prolific songwriter with a beautiful voice. She has released two original EP's in the last year in addition to featuring with acclaimed Bristol folk outfit 'Hands of the Heron' on their recent release album '13 Moons'. We are delighted to be welcoming Bea to our Greenbank Jazz night for the second time!
