Alex Veitch Trio at The Greenbank, Easton

A gig on Thursday 1st November. The event starts at 20:00.

This month, the Alex Veitch Trio features the music of South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim, reworking several of his compositions from the 1996 album 'Cape Town Flowers'

Alex is joined by Cardiff bass virtuoso Aeddan Llywelyn, and Paolo Adomo, a brilliant and sensitive timekeeper, surely one of the most in demand drummers in town.

In addition to the Abdullah Ibrahim pieces, expect a mixture original compositions, jazz standards, and arrangements of other well known songs from artists including Simon & Garfunkel and Kings of Leon. With freedom and spontaneity, this will be an evening of beautiful songs and improvisations, not to be missed!

Alex Veitch - piano

Aeddan Llywelyn - double bass

Paolo Adamo - drums

Music from 8.30pm

On the first Thursday of each month in 'The Art of the Trio' series, the band will be back playing new music and arrangements as they further explore this format's long history in jazz, and write new material to shape its future
