on Friday 26th September. The event starts at 14:00.
Are you looking for a space and community of movers and dance artists to try out creative or choreographic ideas on? Or maybe you'd like to be part of someone else's experiments and get inspired by others? Would you like to practise facilitating movement workshops but not sure where to start? Bristol Creative Movement Labs are hosting monthly sessions for dance artists in Bristol to gain experience in facilitating, trying out ideas, sharing work and giving feedback. We invite dancers and movers to come and be a part of these new ideas and help them grow, all whilst sharing space and networking with other local movers! There is also space for artists or photographers to come along and work with movement images.
This month we have Fern Enley with a Lab dedicated to inspiration, authenticity and connection. Radical Movement Therapy is a guided experience on how to use your voice to inspire your movement and your movement to inspire sonic release.
It is a way to connect by means of deep listening and curiosity, firstly within ourselves, so as to be able to offer ourselves fully and truly to one another.
Led by Fern Enley, a multidisciplinary artist formed by his struggles of autism, fibromyalgia, and childhood abuse; inspired by the preservation of emotional/creative expression, embracing pain, sorrow, and death, the connections that lie amongst all things living, and the art of being inspired.
We will partake in group exercises working first with sound shaping movement; then the inverse. After, we will work in one-to-one settings exploring co choreography using emotional mirroring and grounding. Finally, we will take our tools as a large group, to co create a choreography all together.
Fern's hope for the workshop is that you will leave with skills that bring more spontaneity and inspiration to your world, helping you move with genuine love and intention for yourself, that can extend out into others.
Please note this is a consent-based space and any contact work will be mentioned in advance in order for us to ensure all participants are aware. All participants are welcome to opt in or out of tasks in order to do what is best for them.
