The Dark Side III: Anetha at The Island

A clubnight held at The Island on Friday 1st November. The event starts at 22:00.

This Halloween we bring you the final episode of the year of our Dark Side series in the most haunted space in Bristol: A basement in an old Victorian police station. Our bi-annual residency in the depths of the prison cells continues after bringing you an unforgettable night earlier this year with UK techno legend Regis. The Prison Cells will be transformed into a decadent haunted graveyard of mystery and horrors, with decor and Halloween installations, plus a custom Halloween Lighting. Soundtracked by an amalgam of unbashed techno and improvised sounds of EBM in the main room.

✖︎ Anetha (Anagram / Blocaus series / Mama Told ya)
As a leading figure of the new generation of French DJs inspired by EBM, trance, electro and old school 90’s techno tracks, Anetha knows how to make people dance. She always tries to offer an intense, energetic and unpredictable journey to her public, with a strong and fresh tracks’ selection.

As a resident DJ and producer for key Parisian entity Blocaus she’s become one of the city’s most talked-about new artists, but with a string of recent dates at some of Europe’s best nightclubs such as Concrete, Bassiani, Fabric, Village Underground, FOLD, De School and Berghain. These days she’s just as much of a pull away from home territory. Last year she made a standout apparition at Boiler Room Amsterdam, being ranked as one of the best techno sets of the year by Boiler Room itself.

Production wise, Anetha released her first EP on Work Them Records in 2015 and tracks on different labels since then, including a successful one called Acid Train on the great Anagram imprint in 2017. In 2018, she released two acid ravy tracks alongside the talented Hector Oaks on a split EP and an other EP called Bionic Romance on Blocaus Series, the first imprint she had co-founded with her collective since 2016 to develop the French local scene.

And now, she’s managing her brand-new solo project called Mama told ya – a label focused on sharing and experimentation, which promotes alternative talents and different forms of art, while seeking to push boundaries through the release of some unprecedented collaborative tracks.
