Loose Lips x Treehouse at The Island
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Following November’s crazy fist-pumping antics, diverse DIY collective Loose Lips are back at The Island, teaming up with Treehouse for a night of atmospheric house, techno and electro. Both headliners have had wonderful releases on Bristolian labels. The moody and euphoric tracks of Happy Skull’s Creta Kano will be accompanied by the rawer bass music of Timedance’s Laksa UK. Tickets: £5.00 + 50p."

A clubnight held at The Island on Friday 20th January. The event starts at 22:00pm.

To kick off their 2017 parties, two friendly crews are coming together for a wrinse out at Bristol's enthralling old prison cells.

From Harlesden, London. Releases on Pinkman, Happy Skull & Bokhari. Forthcoming 12"s in early 2017. Radio/club play from Legowelt, Objekt & Shanti Celeste.

- Laksa (Timedance/Mistry)

Emerging from the fringes of Bristol’s techno scene, Laksa is a London based DJ and artist who has, over the past two years, quietly established himself as a skilled and boundary-pushing technician. With a hybrid UK sound drawn from kaleidoscopic taste, he began with a pair of 12-inch releases on Beneath’s ‘Mistry’ imprint – a collection of tracks built for the floor, packing a claustrophobic yet dynamic sound akin to recent Hessle and Livity experiences. With new material forthcoming on Batu’s Timedance label, 2017 should see a continuation of this unbeatable form.

- Juggins (Loose Lips)

Co-founder of Loose Lips, Dominic started throwing parties in Devon and soon migrated to Bristol, to make an impact on the House & Techno scene there. Bringing artists like Wbeeza & Moodymanc to the city, he became known for his sexy styles of music. Juggins is the one who brings the real groove to the crew!

Previously giving Paleman and Hidden Spheres free reign to titillate punters with luscious rhythms and pulsating bass at Brixton’s Phonox over summer, this time around we’re joined by Creta Kano and Laksa at Bristol’s Island. Can you think of a more inviting prospect? Can you? The Treehouse residents get a rush out of contorting your bodies with the weirdest tunes we can find – what better way to celebrate a tolerable exam performance than to writhe like fish on land in a dank sweaty room? You know you want to.
