Lone [R&S Records / Magicwire]
Em Williams [Simple / Mix Nights]
After our sell out event at Loco Klub, we’re back for our second outing at The Island. Heading the proceedings will be R&S Records mainstay, and Magicwire boss: Lone.
Never one to be pigeonholed to a single genre, Lone fuses breaks, house, techno, and electro all to great effect. Having released several albums on the iconic R&S Records, and his recent ‘Ambivert Tools’ EP series, his output showcases his strong production skills, crafting each body of work to sonic excellence.
Much like his productions, Lone’s DJ sets span a number of genres, his brilliant Radio 1 Essential Mix covered house, ravey breaks, acid, and so much more. Having recently come off the back of supporting acid house legends 808 State on their 30 year anniversary tour, we’re really excited to have him perform a 3 hour DJ set for us in The Cells.
Supporting Lone for the evening comes in the form of one of our favourite local deejays: Em Williams. A resident for Oxford based party Simple, Em has supported the likes of sterling underground artists such as DJ Stingray, Midland, Saoirse, and more.
Now residing in Bristol, Em continues her residency at Simple, whilst having a monthly residency on Noods Radio, and is a mentor at the all important DJ workshop for Women: Mix Nights. Having caught her sets round Bristol a number of times, we know she will provide the perfect warm up for Lone.
