A clubnight held at The Island on Saturday 12th December. The event starts at 21:00.
It’s an increasingly discordant world out there. Our response? We’re bringing together artists from across the deepest, darkest dimensions of experimental sound for a night of release, to let loose, and to raise funds for 1625 Independent People, a Bristol charity for young people. All proceeds (minus artist and venue fees) will be donated!
All the way from Japan, the inimitable Goth-Trad will fill the sonic spectrum with not just his signature weighty bass rhythms, but also a rare UK outing of his live noise/drone wizardry. Aja Ireland will electrify the night with her mutant femme energy in a live AV experience. Bristol stalwarts Medis, Field Case and Thomas Ridley will round proceedings out with their unique flavours of mind-bending sounds.
It’s a confusing world. But, IT’S OKAY.
BE YOU.

Goth-Trad has been pushing the boundaries of bass music and experimental sound since the late 1990s. His music draws from dub, dubstep, jungle, grime, techno, rave, noise, industrial, and experimental music, constantly evolving into his own unique sound as one of dubstep’s leading artists. Alongside producing and touring, Goth-Trad still runs Japan’s most famous bass driven club night, Back To Chill. Appearing at numerous leading international festivals he remains one of the key figures connecting Japan’s underground sound with the global bass music community.
Aja Ireland, an award-winning sound and performance artist, has received widespread recognition in DAZED, Vice Magazine, FACT, Noisey, The Guardian and BBC Radio 1. Described in The WIRE as “Shifting from ethereal diffusions to potent explosions,” Aja's live shows have captivated audiences across three successful UK and European tours, major festivals and venues. Her latest Moult Mouth EP and live show invites listeners into a space where sensuality is power, the monstrous is feminine liberation, and the dance floor becomes a place to claim space without apology.
Medis has developed a distinctly unique approach to her production and sets, constantly pushing the boundaries of the UK club scene. Gaining support from Fabric, RinseFM, KeepHush and Hör she’s "An artist you need to know" - said by Alix Perez, Khan, Om Unit and other artists alike who have supported her rise. UK Rap, Memphis rap, Footwork, Phonk, Alternative Hip-hop, Grime and Dub form the basis of her musical expertise and inform the direction and style her creative endeavours.
Field Case are Bristol-based DJs, producers, and residents of RTN. The duo carve out space at the intersection of rhythm and texture, crafting dynamic atmospheres built for exploration and freedom of expression. Their sets move fluidly between broken techno, glitchy bass and hypnotic rhythms, a sound that is both restless and deeply immersive.
Thomas Ridley, artist, producer and host of Bristol’s SPOOL Sunday sessions brings his new live show. Expect skeletal, dubbed out techno and off-kilter melody, featuring, his collection of analogue electronic oddities and home-made sequencers.
1625 Independent People are a charity that works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless, leaving care or at risk of homelessness in the South West. They provide safe, affordable housing and specialised services to address mental health, build confidence, and promote education, employment, and training, so young people can thrive as independent adults.
