DJs:

HYROGLIFICS

Hyroglifics has come correct since stepping out with D&B fringe
leviathans, Critical Music, in 2014. The decorated producer has
been on his grind; notching up the accolades as one of FACT
mag’s ’10 Producers to watch in 2015′, headhunted for the prestigious Red Bull Academy, and heralded for his debut EP on Kasra’s Critical Music with the genre bending ‘No Drama’ EP in summer 2015. Whilst his footwork and halftime influences have always been evident in his multi-genre productions, his collaborative EP on Hooversound with Sinistarr solidified his ability to bang out tunes at 160bpm, gifting us with club anthems as ‘BS6’ and ‘Turbo Island’. We can’t wait to welcome him to The Island for a special exclusive 160 set.

2QUID

2QUID is a diverse, female duo spread between London and Bristol. Their track list takes influence from their respective hometowns, creating a unique set consisting of bouncy jungle, turbo breaks and choppy techno. Picking up traction from their resident slots with local stalwarts Duckland and recent shellings at Fields of Fantasy festival, the future looks bright for these two selectors. Expect a high-energy b2b that will blow your socks off.

NATE KA$H

Nate Ka$h (fka Annie Parker) approaches her DJ sets with from a distinct angle, focusing on dance. Having cut her teeth in the city itself, she explores the bass-driven sound that connects Bristol with club flavours from across the globe. Expect to hear a melting pot of camp, ravey slappers and more po-faced percussive tools, the thing connecting them being their focus on movement and swing.

DTSM

DTSM ( short for Dios te salve Maria ) is a genre-hopping, tempo building selecta with a penchant for cheeky edits, doingy techno and breaks. A Saffron Mix Nights grad with guest mixes on NOODS and co-founder of the Be More Pacific nights at the Moon, you can expect a fun mixture of club trax and dark and funky styles.

+ RESIDENTS

PORTWAY

Softcore label head honcho PORTWAY is a genre defying chameleon: his output ranging from 100bpm chuggers to 170 tearout jungle. Fresh from a huge headline set at Area Code and racking up recent support from LCY, A.Fruit, Skream and more, Portway is certainly one to watch for the coming future.

DROMEK

With his debut EP £50 Pints on Moon Rack racking up radio plays from Dead Man's Chest & Etch, DROMEK brings his own style of precise, syncopated and grainy 170BPM oddities to the party in a flurry of granular timestretch drumglizm, swooning lo-fi textures and deft loop choppage.

GOLDMAN

Half-time // Slow/fast / WORKS Records bossman GOLDMAN has been pushing 160bpm music in the UK for more than 3+ years now. With recent releases on Nu Kvlture and forthcoming tracks on Trax Haven, Excess, and a solo EP on WORKS out this month, you can expect all kinds of styles, from footwork to jungle tekno and beyond.
