A
clubnight
held at The Island
on Saturday 26th March. The event starts at 22:00.
We are absolutely thrilled to have Imogen playing all night long at The Prison Cells on the 26th of March. This will be our first show of the year and IMOGEN'S first-ever open-close DJ set.
Bursting on the scene just a few years ago, IMOGEN has had a whirlwind rise establishing herself as a prominent figure in dance music. With outings including Mutabor, Dimensions festival and Printworks, IMOGEN was also the youngest ever woman to DJ at Berghain. No matter the size of crowd or show, IMOGEN’s musical integrity has been deeply important to her, with sets bouncing between the dark and murky sides of electro, breaks and techno.
IMOGEN grew up in Southampton with her Mum playing her the sounds of early 00’s rave and breaks music, the likes of Plump DJ’s, Colin Father and Leftfield. These artists still greatly influence her style today. After moving to London at 16 to study electronic music, she began to immerse herself in the London clubbing scene and radio circuit. Now a respected artist in Europe, IMOGEN has an NTS radio residency, as well as a residency in London's most iconic club fabric, where she will host her own party under her new brand Wigs.
Wigs is a party, label and community distorting musical norms. IMOGEN combines her early influences with new talent to showcase raw rave music with a futuristic twist, reinvigorating London’s line ups. Wigs will prioritise equality, creating a safe space on the dance floor and behind the decks. For the past few years IMOGEN has been finding inspiration from the planet and the ecological breakdown that humanity faces. As an artist of the next generation she feels responsible for making a change, including in the sustainability of dance music.
A glance at her discography includes releases on Earwiggle, fabric, and Shared Meanings, with her last release selling out in under a week. IMOGEN continues to build her sonic identity into 2021 with lots of exciting projects and collaborations in the pipeline. This summer IMOGEN is returning to the festival circuit with bookings at some of the biggest European techno festivals.
