Realist Alive x Evolver - Maniken05, exmantera, Mvcoko, CU-SITH & more at The Island

A clubnight held at The Island on Saturday 26th September. The event starts at 22:30.

Evolver's Stockholm legacy runs about as deep as it comes. Bladee, James Ferraro, ecco2k, Juliana Huxtable - throw a dart at anyone who has shaped contemporary electronic music and they probably played an Evolver bill. Back running parties in a new capital, they make the trip down from London to join Bristol's resident avant-club urchins Realist Alive to continue this legacy of dancefloor radicality and explosive, otherworldly sonics.

Maniken05 - Latvia's post-everything prodigy touches down in Bristol for the first time. Soundcloud's premier alchemist of an inimitable club music that engorges trance, EDM, hyperop, trap and jumpstyle, Maniken05 is a legitimate wunderkind in the vein of HudMo or Iglooghost. His UK debut at SYPHEN in September saw him tear the roof off Corsica's Room 1. An omnivorous talent beyond bounds, Bristol awaits him doing the same.

exmantera - A unique talent in the current wave of post-club iconoclasts, exmantera envelops darkly atmospheric sound design into stuttering, sludgy takes on cumbia, reggaeton, baile funk to the entire hardcore continuum. From twinkly techno to enigmatic dancehall and jersey, there's about no region an Exmantera track doesn't touch on. Under alternate alias MEAT CAGE, she is responsible for some of the heaviest and most-played edits in the decon club scene. 2026 has seen her continue her ascent, playing dates across Europe in Berlin, Tbilsi and Paris. She arrives for her Bristol debut following a late-summer tour of North America.

Mvcoko - How synopsise the essentiality of Mvcoko to the UK's contemporary club scene? Producer, DJ and mastermind of London event series SYPHEN, no promoter has been as recently important to the exploration of experimental music in club settings. As a producer and DJ, their work straddles the whole orbit of hard-dance, whilst interweaving noise, ambientand industrial sonics. A master technician, dancefloor destructor and peerless curator, it's an honour to have them return to Bristol.

CU-SITH - Emerging out that Glaswegian style of experimental club that has interwoven the abrasion of harsh noise and power electronics with the blown-out low-end of trap, drill and dubstep, CU-SITH is developing into one of the city's major talents. Wielding a maximalist approach that pairs bursts of EDM superabundance with glitched-out deconstructed club, CU-SITH has been regularly tearing asunder his city's club circuit. September 26 sees his Bristol debut.

sean pain - One of the longstanding architects of Evolver, sean pain has shaped the promotion into one of contemporary club's underseen progenitors. The legacy of associations with everybody from Drain Gang to their early support of contemporary stars like Oli XL and Malibu speaks for itself. As selector, sean pain is as comfortable with murky experimental bass as they are in the darkest regions of uptempo, drawing on jersey, footwork, nightcore, grime and gabber. Virtuoso.

tskali - Stepping back on Avon soil after dates in Copenhagen and Budapest, Realist Alive head tskali opens proceedings with a patented sound rooted in unpredictability and provocation, incorporating anything from dub-techno and drill to krach and sound collage.
