Movement Lab: Responding to Art and Mark-Making at The Island

A event held at The Island on Sunday 2nd February. The event starts at 15:00.

Calling all movers, visual artists and photographers in Bristol!

Bristol Creative Movement Labs are hosting a 3-hour creative dance session, for dance and visual artists in Bristol to gain experience in facilitating, trying out ideas, sharing work and providing some reflections.

The last part of the session will be an open dance jam, where you can move or draw freely from your own practice or material in the class. This space is CI friendly.

This session will be run by Edwina and Sachin Babbar. Facilitators will deliver warm-ups and scores on how we might respond (through dance) to visual stimulus. And how mark-making can be another tool to observe and further contribute to our dance. The session will be testing out material for an upcoming workshop: Play&Paint.

Structure:
We will start the session with a 30 minute warm-up by Edwina. Then a 1 hour session with Sachin responding to art and mark-making exercises, with 20 minutes for reflections. Then an open floor to carry on the mark making or dancing. This space is CI friendly.
