Improvising at the Edge: Movement and Text Improvisation Workshop at The Island

A event held at The Island on Sunday 25th January. The event starts at 10:00.

A lively, playful workshop for performers, dancers, storytellers, movers, and actors...

Through movement and text improvisations, we will explore performance themes related to place - imagined, real, surreal, and otherworldly. Reflecting my PhD research in performance, we explore how the ordinary intersects with the strange and mysterious.

The workshop aims to break down inhibitions and explore improvising at your edge through improvisation scores and ensemble game structures. Through a feedback process, you will be prompted to creatively explore latent themes, narratives, and imagery that emerge through the co-creation process.

Led by Dr Mary Steadman and Xavier De Santos.
