A
event
held at The Island
on Tuesday 10th June. The event starts at 18:00.
In these uncertain times, can art be used as a tool to build community, cultivate discussion and demonstrate the possibility for change? This exhibition presents works which offer alternative narratives to an increasingly divided world. The hopes, the fears, the thoughts, the non-thoughts, the dreams, the utopias, and the dystopias. What can we learn from each other, ourselves, and the natural world? Bringing our imaginative potential together can reveal our ability to do the same in society.
There will be an art stall and a donation bar to fundraise for the Sameer project, an aid initiative led by Palestinians in the diaspora. They work to supply emergency shelter and aid to displaced families in Gaza. The project seeks to provide for the areas most in need and return "agency and self-reliance" to families, providing for their specific needs.
