Here and Now at The Island
See event details

A event held at The Island on Tuesday 16th June. The event starts at 22:00.

Here and Now is a collection of photographic and moving image stories of the natural world created by 35 soon-to-be graduate students of Marine and Natural History photography. In a time where the future is so unprecedented, this exhibition evaluates the current state of the natural world. But as an accumulation of global and local stories, Here and Now presents the future of conservation storytelling, through the eyes of the world’s only Natural History photography degree.

From micro ecosystems to the coexistence of humans and the natural world this exhibition brings fresh stories that are rooted in the context of our persecuted natural world. This co-curated exhibition compassionately explores our planet with a hope to inspire a rekindled connection with it.

The work on display is the career defining projects of all those involved, the outcome of a degree and the expression of each exhibitor’s connection to the natural world. This exciting and innovative collection comes from young creatives united in their empathy for our planet as it attempts to survive the Anthropocene.
