Satellite of Love Poetry and Spoken Word run monthly events, workshops and writing retreats. Our monthly events at the John Sebastian Lightship offer a platform for local and touring poets, open mic and a community poem.

All languages welcome.

Jenny Mitchell won the Poetry Book Awards 2021 and is a joint winner of the Geoff Stevens Memorial Prize. She also won the inaugural Ironbridge Prize, the Bedford Prize, the Ware Competition and, most recently, the Shooter LitMag Poetry Competition. The best-selling debut collection, Her Lost Language, is One of 44 Poetry Books for 2019 (Poetry Wales), and a second collection, Map of a Plantation, is on the syllabus at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her latest collection, Resurrection of a Black Man, is a Poetry Kit Book of the Month.
