A
event
on Thursday 22nd February. The event starts at 20:00pm.
They say comedy is tragedy plus time. Unfortunately, this shit is happening now. Nick Doody is coming to the tiny upstairs of the Lazy Dog, and will help us all process this mess, together.
In Edinburgh this year, when I asked around for someone who did straight, hard-hitting standup that's worth a look, the name that came back across the board was Nick Doody. And they were right. Smart, fast, on-point and highly crafted. This is the pure stuff, the goods.
While still a student, Nick supported Bill Hicks on his final tour of the UK, at Bill’s request. So basically, if you don't come see him, you're pissing on Bill Hicks' grave.
Joining Nick is Louise Leigh and Darryl Carrington. Louise is currently a finalist in the regional Funny Women contest, and has basically been killing it this past year on shows all over the Southwest. A Lazy Dog favourite, we're excited to have her brand of sharp and twisted wit as part of this amazing lineup.
Darryl Carrington is another familiar face and huge talent from Bristol, with the charisma of a street-performer and the crafted bits of a Swiss clockmaker, assuming all Swiss clockmakers are hilarious, which you probably shouldn't do, even though your heart's in the right place, someone might take it the wrong way. Point is, you need to get down here and catch Darryl, and the rest of this ridiculously solid night at your comedy local.
The show starts right at 8pm, with doors at 7:30. Tickets available at the door.
The show is hosted by Tony Chiotti, and followed by a cheeky little open mic, which will get you up to last orders if you want free heat and some free laughs at the end of the evening.
Upstairs. 18+.
