on Friday 10th June. The event starts at 20:00.
TBC Editions are dropping 2 fresh new segments of audio goodness for your ears. A studio album from Dan Johnson and a debut EP from the unknown Folly. To Celebrate we thought we would take you somewhere you have probably never been before, but will definitely return to - The Lightship.
DAN JOHNSON
Rooted in improvisation, Dan’s work explores human nature and seeks to expose and
expand the limits of mind, body, and spirit. A staple of Bristol's experimental music community and an expressionist solo drummer in his own right, constantly exploring and searching for new ways to examine the acoustic possibilities of drums and rhythm within obscure and abandoned spaces.
“Dan Johnson needs to be seen to be believed. Just go and watch.”
BIPED
A dystopian sound poet and town crier for the digital age, BIPED is something like a half-dreaming one-person musical onstage. The shows are immersive and raw, stitching unreal postmodern soundworlds, swelling melody and twitchy rhythms with ancient lore into a tapestry of shared humanity, uncomfortable provocations, the absurd and the beautiful.
FOLLY
A debut live show and a musical ode to the excavation of the Wandlebury figures in South Cambridgeshire, by the paranormal renegade and unhackneyed troubadour T.C Lethbridge. Folly will present the findings from their recent excavations; to help you understand the tale of the new-fangled historian, his encounters with the Gogmagogs and to re-ask the question - Why did the bars stick in the places!?
