Mother Foucault at Loco Klub
£15, £11 concession

A gig on Thursday 24th March. The event starts at 20:00.

In Bristol lays an undiscovered treasure. Unseen for almost 50 years, the ash pits below Bristol Temple Meads station leads you to the former Working Men's club, The Loco Klub (befitting to a Shane Meadows film).

On Thursday 24 March poet and spoken word artist Joelle Taylor brings Mother Foucault to Bristol for the first time: a night of intellectual uprising, powerful poetry and furious dance.

Her guests create a line up of some of the best female spoken word artists in the country;

British Egyptian playwright, poet and Edinburgh Fringe First Winner Sabrina Mahfouz

Salena Godden the indefinable black, punk, feminist poet, writer and performer

Vanessa Kisuule her clever, complex and cutting style makes her a favourite of the UK scene and Former Hammer and Tongue UK Slam Champion

and of course Joelle Taylor herself a 'Surrealist with a raised fist', professional spoken word artist, published poet and playwright

Up and coming female DJ - Antonia providing the after show
