King Lear: The Musical

— The Loco Klub
Shakespeare's broody tragedy takes an outrageously silly turn using rewritten pop classics
price: See event details

Information:

After completely sold-out runs in 2018 and 2019, the team that brought you 'Hamlet: The Musical' and 'Macbeth: The Musical' take on Shakespeare’s most dysfunctional family!

Shakespeare's broody tragedy takes an outrageously silly turn, as six actors deploy wittily rewritten pop classics, chaotically daft comedy, and an array of highly haphazard props to recount the tale of a meglomaniac family who make the Kardashians look like Little House on the Prairie. Expect kings, Kanye, ham-acting, Hamilton, screams, Queen, and much more besides.

With gloriously repurposed numbers from Broadway, the charts, and the Golden Oldies, 'King Lear: The Musical' is a hilarious ride, suitable for buffs and beginners, wee ones and wizened ones, and princes and proles alike!

Doors open - 6:30pm
Show starts - 7pm
