Hammer & Tongue ft. Saili Katebe /Aiysha Humphreys at Loco Klub

A event held at Loco Klub on Wednesday 5th February. The event starts at 19:00.

Join one of Bristol's best and longest-running spoken word events, as we continue our search for our 2020 REGIONAL CHAMPION who will represent us at THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL IN 2021. Enter the slam and IT COULD BE YOU. Or just come for the stunning poetry.

Our JOINT HEADLINERS this month are our 2019 champion SAILI KATEBE and national finalist AIYSHA HUMPHREYS, who are both representing us at the National Finals this year. We think they're both world-beaters. Catch them now, because they're already making big waves in Bristol and beyond and are well on their way to spoken word superstardom.

SAILI KATEBE is a Zambian born writer based in the south west. As a writer and a performer he is always looking to connect with different disciplines and creative outlets, exploring his curiosity with creativity and recklessness.

AIYSHA HUMPHREYS is a Bristol- based spoken word performer and mythological creature in residence. Their poetry deals with the topics of mental illness, love, trauma, queer identity and their love of oranges. They exude an enchanting calmness in the delivery of their poetry that contrasts the harrowing nature of what they write about.
They have performed at events all over the Southwest, featured on BBC Radio Bristol and have qualified for the Hammer & Tongue national slam finals.

8 Slam slots available - sign up by 7:20pm for your chance to qualify for the regional finals (and an opportunity to reach the nationals!)
