We're back at The Love Inn on Friday 2nd September, this time teaming up with Opia Records as part of their 5th birthday celebrations.

Lineup:
Jorge Escribano
Loa Szala
Jimmy Batt (Live)
Jiminy Watts

ARTIST DESCRIPTIONS:

JORGE ESCRIBANO

Jorge has been as active as they come recently, playing everywhere from Berlin to Barcelona to Naples. One of Opia Records’ own, this guy is all about the rhythm and groove. Not only does the Spaniard spend countless hours unearthing hidden gems, he also dedicates some of his time to managing Euphoric State (sublabel of Opia Records). Jorge will be making his Bristol debut on Friday the 2nd of September.

LOA SZALA

Loa Szala has been smashing it out the park recently.

Big on the London scene and playing at many of the Alien Communications nights, we are stoked to have her finally joining us in Bristol!
Loa was born in Poland before relocating to Japan where she fell in love with electronic music. Following this, her event series, Medusa Bloom, was born.
Loa shows no signs of slowing down at the moment with plenty of big bookings lined up for the rest of the year. Having built up a fun, elegant and badass record collection, we are excited to see what she brings to the Inn this Friday.

JIMMY BATT

Jimmy Batt AKA Jean-Marie Battesti is part of the new wave of French artists pushing a range of complex sounds. It would be silly to pigeonhole the sound into one genre, but it can range from light and groovy house, to deeper electro and melodic new wave. Jimmy has been surrounded by music ever since he was born, first being influenced by his father (a passionate drummer) and then being part of several bands. He then took the leap into the world of electronics. When it comes to who has released on Opia Records, Jimmy is in good company as many of his French counterparts have released on the label too e.g. Nemo Vachez, Idris Bena and Man/Ipulate. With two Opia releases so far, it is only fitting that we have invited Jimmy down to Bristol for a live set. Whether Jimmy is smashing out electro, house or techno, one thing is always for certain…energies are off the charts. This is Emotional Intelligence’s first live set so understandably we are rather excited.
