A
clubnight
held at The Love Inn
on Thursday 7th September. The event starts at 21:00.
DJ Ammi (they/she) [vinyl set]:
DJ Ammi will be venturing south of their usual 140bpm selections for this wan, debuting a bit of a new sound: not quite dubstep, nor electro, nor UKG, but somewhere in the negative space between, where wubs n scatty breakbeats simmer in a strange soup of bass-driven euphoria.
Muna (she/her):
If you’re based in Bristol, you’re probably familiar with this selecta. Her name has become synonymous with the city’s underground dance scene, thanks to her top-tier footwork, breaks, and jungle selections. But you might not have heard her slower, stranger, 130–140bpm sounds – those have been bubbling away out of earshot for a while, cooking to perfection, and will be served up for your pleasure on the 7th. I can’t wait to hear what this stellar deejay has in store for us – I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be damn good.
Jamurai (she/they):
Fresh off the National Express down from Leeds, this selecta will be showing you a different side to their craft compared to what you may have heard. You probably know Jamurai for their wicked jungle productions, or as an integral part of the Misscoteque crew. The lucky among you may also have tuned into their show on Noods last month, covering for sadsugar on twist of lemon. Their percussive, polyrhythmic, bass-driven flavours on that set blew my tiny mind; it was a masterclass in all things 130–160bpm. For the first time, on the 7th, they’ll be bringing those vibes to the club setting, and I for one can hardly wait.
k-to (n/a):
A k-to club set is similar to a solar eclipse – it is a rare, sublime event of cosmic significance. In other words, this is k-to's debut club gig. I’ve seen this deejay tearing up dance floors at parties on the Sunflower Soundsystem for years, with selections from an apparently endless collection of exquisite dance music. k-to will be closing the night with an hour of genre-defying left field bass-driven excursions on a combination of vinyl and digital formats. The set will be the carefully cultivated fruit of years of digging, collecting, and playing parties…bound to be cerebral and deep, and 100% guaranteed to move your feet.
Current plan for set times is:
9pm–11pm Vinyl selections from DJ Ammi + Friends
11pm–12am Muna
12–1am Jamurai
1–2am DJ Ammi
2–3am k-to
