Come to the MALCOM X CENTRE࿓ on city road for an evening of puppetry that seeks to forge new realities and take back stolen truths࿓

Presenting for the first time in the UK ࿓PONCILI CREACIÓN࿓ from Puerto Rico who bring their magical foam world to our city.

࿓ Poncili Creación (@poncilicreacion) is an art collective from San Juan, Puerto Rico, led by identical twin brothers Pablo and Efraín Del Hierro. Founded in 2012, the duo’s practice fuses puppetry, performance, sculpture, sound, and improvised storytelling to create immersive, communal experiences. Poncili Creación constructs fantastical, large-scale objects and wearable sculptures — often from salvaged polyurethane foam and found materials — which are animated through movement, dance, live music, and participatory performance.

The show will start from 9.30pm with drums from a representative of the Liquid Library followed by a traditional Ponci DJ SET

࿓ Poncili Creación is a soft sculpture and performative collective that ambiguously started around the 2010s in the soon-not-to-be colony of Puerto Rico. They have dedicated all their life to bending the ancient art of puppetry into a community-building tool in pursuit of a different world. Mixing trash with colour, dance with existentialism, and life with death, their practice stays at the fringes of anarchist lunacy and contemporary intellectualism. Currently on a neverending world tour, they present their work in schools, festivals, backyards, galleries, houses, museums, bathrooms, and weddings. If you see them feed them, they are always hungry.
