Into the long Summer evenings we go.

Come join Sarah-Jane and the Bristol Contact improvisation community at The Mount Without to explore all the possibilities of capturing the moving body on paper.

This workshop will be an exploration of movement and sound. Breaking the rules of traditional Life Drawing, going from stillness and position, to playing with your creativity, and looking at capturing moving figures.
You’ll be guided by Sarah-Jane and the dancers to work around the page and mark make. We will not be looking for the perfect drawing, the workshop will be an environment for creating and collaborating. Sarah-Jane strives to create a comfortable and safe space for people to experiment in and is looking forward to drawing alongside you in this exciting workshop.

A selection of drawing materials and paper will be provided, but you are welcome to bring any other materials you wish.

Please note the dancers will be clothed.

Sarah-Jane is a Bristol Based Drawer and artist, their approach to drawing is to use feeling and expression, along with, technique, mindfulness and focus. Her work delves into a variety of mediums, predominantly in Illustration, Animation and Drawing.
They are a member of the Out the Window collective and alongside this works as a Drawing Technician and Life Drawing Instructor at UWE, part of the Front of House team at The Arnolfini Gallery, and a weekly Creative Facilitator or Let’s Make Art Bristol.
