Although very different works, Scáling and Supernature are connected by a shared intensity of attention and a total commitment to the task at hand.

Scáling - a duet with Czech dancer Markéta Stránská, is built through the continually changing relationship between two different bodies. Every movement proposes another adjustment, another negotiation, another possibility. Difference is never resolved. The dance is exacting in its attention to what is happening between the performers, moment by moment.

Supernature brings that same commitment to a body on its own. It moves through shifting states of wild physicality, possession, humour, awkwardness and transformation. The body that appears is never settled. It is continually arriving, continually redefining itself, revealing something only for it to change again.

Both works are queer in the way they refuse fixed definitions of the body. They understand movement not simply as something bodies do, but as a condition of being: a continual process of change, of definition and redefinition. Nothing is fixed. Everything is becoming.

This is not improvisation. Every detail has been made with precision. But both works remain fully engaged with the present tense, where what is happening now continually reshapes what comes next. The audience is invited into that same act of attention, staying close to what cannot quite be known, even as it unfolds before them.
