Caliban's Dream at The Mount Without
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"A standout new piece from British-Guyanese choreographer Owen Ridley-DeMonick, premiering as part of Impermanence’s fortnight-long dance-theatre festival, This Body. Caliban’s Dream uses The Tempest’s monstrified anti-hero as a springboard for a reclamation tale that examines dispossessed selfhood and the legacy of colonial violence. Transcendent."

CALIBAN'S DREAM
'Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises...'

Set inside the Bermuda Triangle at the precise time between the Old World and the New World, Caliban's Dream is a meditation on innocence lost, violence and love.

A new work by associate artist Owen Ridley-DeMonick, Caliban's Dream interrogates the post-colonial gaze, subjectivity and performance as a site for transformation. A journey of awakening through the terrible and the sublime.
