A event held at The Mount Without on Wednesday 6th March. The event starts at 14:00.


Hosted by the Diverse Artists Network in collaboration with Movema, "All Things Dance" offers a platform for dance professionals and enthusiasts. Attendees have the opportunity to share their experiences, seek support, address challenges, and explore avenues for personal and professional growth. It is a day dedicated to expressing passion for dance and contributing to the representation of diversity within the art form.

This event aims to strengthen the dance network, by connecting dancers and dance organisations with each other as well as venues, programmers, development agencies and other arts organisations. Through artist-led conversations, participants will have the opportunity to facilitate discussions, gain support, and celebrate the outstanding diverse work within Bristol's dance community

This is a place to discover what's going on, to meet people who share the love & understand the importance of dance, to represent diversity in dance, and for audiences to find out more about different styles and projects happening in and around Bristol.

PROGRAMME:
2-5pm AFTERNOON PROGRAMME:
2-3pm - Networking, introductions and speakers corner.

3pm - Speakers;
Diverse Artists Network will be talking about DIASPORA! Festival, Movema will update on their Artist Development programme Wildfire Rising, and Deborah Baddoo will share information about the Cane Warriors coming to Bristol at the end of the month.

3.15- 4pm - Round table discussion groups:
Themes include; Training, development & progression routes for emerging and established dance artists; Dance & theatre programming/ producing;
and Diversifying career paths.
Helen Wilson, Kit Hall, Deborah Baddoo, Norman Stephenson, Rowan Fae, Aisha Ali, Jasmine Loveys, Bertel Martin and Giulia Bianchini will be contributing to these discussions.

4.15- 5pm - Freedom Soul Dance workshop with Penny- Marie Avery

5-9pm EVENING PROGRAMME
5.15pm - Sudanese food (vegan). Please purchase a meal ticket if you would like to join us for food.
5.30pm - Relaxed performance by Pei Yee Tong.
6pm - Indian dance workshop facilitated by Kamini Mehta.

6.30- 8.30pm - A jam packed programme of performances, presentations and participation:
Contemporary dance by RISE Youth Dance, Sacred pow wow hoop dance by Kerry Sudbury / Oka Anumpuli, Persian dance by Medea Mahdavi and dancers, Ladies Salsa by Latin Gems, Fusion Belly Dance featuring Ceci Opal and Pearl Boheme, South West Dance Theatre exploring Wave-Particle Duality, Alexandra Pickford and Penny Marie Avery, Movema's World Fusion group performing an Afro Caribbean Carnival medley facilitated by Lildonia Lawrence, Divija Melally performing a Bharatanatyam solo, Rubba and the Afi Dancers perform an adapted version of the Nyau dances with live drummers, Kings Dance Company performing Street dance styles.

8.30pm - Community Jam! Issie Lloyd from Funk Supreme who will be guiding us through some Funk Socials and a Soul Train.

9pm - Finish
