The Happening presents world music spectacular at the nova scotia
£6/£4 concs (over 65/student/lower income)

A gig on Thursday 14th June. The event starts at 20:00.

Presented by local songwriting husband and wife team Larkham & Hall, 'The Happening' events always draw a crowd of listening music fans. 'An atmosphere of convivial bonhomie', as Bristol 24/7 writer JK put it. Every month in two different intimate locations (upstairs at The Nova Scota Hotwells/The Lansdown Clifton) the pair handpick top quality musicians for an unforgettable candlelit, warm and magical night,

This month they present CHAI FOR FOUR

Chai For All - as a foursome - featuring chanteuse Marianna Moralis, sing a rumbustious mix of klezmer Yiddish theatre and Arabic folk songs. Backed by veteran trumper David Mowat, Knud Stuwe on oud and guitars and Simon Leach on assorted percussion. Featuring some songs from the 'Longing and Belonging' projects with cds for sale

with support from HOWARD SILVERMAN

New York artist Howard sings original blues n roots songs with a distinct bluegrass flavour, about his continuing love for his wife Sally, his travels here from the US back in the 60's, and his romantic take on modern life.

As usual, your hosts LARKHAM &HALL 'a gloriously soulful powerhouse of songwriting' (VRA) will be playing a short set of their americana tinged alt-folk...this time with a world music flavour.
