Welcome to ‘HOT WAX - Records & Things!’ Bristol’s newest record store.
You are invited to the first ever day at ‘ Hot Wax’ for a day of digging and the first dance / DJ in-store session Saturday 11th of October!
Our new shop is in Bishopston / St Andrews, just off Gloucester Road in The Old Drumbank Studios and Coffee Shop at 4 Sommerville Road.
This early Autumn Saturday we host our grand official opening - a 12 hour day of record digging, mingling, coffees and then from 4pm till 10pm DJ sets, beers, tequilas, pizza and dancing for the first time in our newly inaugurated shop.
The shop is being set up and run by Nathan Worm of Worm Disco Club, and as such is kind of an extension of all thing wormy, and you can expect an array of genres from Bristol suitable electronic styles, to global grooves, Jazz, Funk, Hiphop and of course classic rock, psych and beyond! The shop will also be stocking small amounts of high quality brand new releases.
You will also be able to get some incredibly vibrant art standard ( amazing quality) ‘Giclee’ poster prints for your house or studio wall, as well as a selection of fresh tees, hats & winter-wares. We’re also gonna be selling (and this will expand over time) top quality essential DJ & Vinyl accessories!
On the opening day we’re gonna be open from 10am until 3.30pm to welcome diggers. This day we will have 3 listening decks available plus an extra amount of vinyl out for you to sift through! You will be able to grab £2 ‘Radical Roasters’ Coffees all day if you purchase a record and of course the adjoining coffee shop - run by Pat and Lara ‘Once In A Blue Moon’ - will also have delicious herbal teas, cakes and pastries and we’ll have a licensed bar running from midday and some additional hot snacks (news to come on that!).
Then from 3.45pm we will be wrapping up selling stuff for our first day as we kick start the celebration with 7 DJ sets across six hour between 4 and 10pm all powered through a beautiful pair of vintage KLH Model 5 Speakers and 100% Vinyl sets from an array of some Bristol’s most experienced, highly regarded and active DJ selectors!

Capacity for the in-store is limited to just 80 people and we know lots of you are excited for this and so to guarantee entry please grab a £4 advance ticket to get in. There will be spaces on the door but get along early innit!
The bar will be cans and we’ll have some white wine, rum, G&Ts, Tequila and non alcoholic beers and softs available as well!
Party starts 4pm and finishes 10pm! -
