Hannah Allen ft. Bill Frampton and Mrisi

Hannah Allen ft. Bill Frampton and Mrisi at The Old Drumbank Studios

A gig on Saturday 28th November. The event starts at 20:30.

The Kitchen Team has been branching from the southern tip of Africa in Eswatini all the way to the UK. Our unique sonic and visual curation has landed in Bristol UK at the Old Drumbank studio, and Hot Wax record Store just off Gloucester Road. This intimate venue is a home to artisans of all disciplines from jewellery making, content creation, painters, tattoo and music, which mirrors the multidisciplinary experience the Kitchen curated on a permaculture farm in Eswatini. The first show in the UK aims to consolidate a bridge between the two locations, honour the artistry grown in Eswatini, and introduce it to a UK audience.

The Line up will feature Hannah Allen playing her unreleased project developed in Eswatini in collaboration with London based producer and multi instrumentalist Mrisi providing textures with traditional Southern African instrumentation, and Double Bass player Bill Frampton. Playlisting will be curated by Mlandvo Masuku (The Kitchen Radio) and will take listeners on a journey through Southern African Jazz, soul and hip hop, with a spotlight on Eswatini’s most prolific artists currently.

We will also feature photography from Swazi writer, poet and photographer Noncedo Msibi, and artwork from Swazi writer, musician and painter Sakhile Gumbi.
