Amon Duul, Ash Ra Temple Improvisational basslines,
glacial tempo and crushing guitar fuzz drone tones.
The cosmos has now aligned, and with great honour Ritual Productions announce BONG’s return after three years with a new and momentous rite.
Bong feel ever so omnipresent on ‘Thought and Existence’, continuing their revered ability to transform time through their sublime sonic textures. As all listeners of this rite will attest, the band’s stellar meditative and mystical drone, amplified by the essential and ritualistic hue of the drums, permits our imagination to be heightened. New realms of perception and existence open up, even if only for the duration of the rite; the power of this listening experience subverting the laws of time and space itself.
Comprised of vocalist and drummer Tyler Hodges and guitarist Tom Dimmock, Tuskar’s chemistry is unmistakable both live and in the studio. The two 20-year olds have grown up playing together in bands and have struck out on their own with material that owes as much to Conan and Sleep as it does bands like Behemoth and Darkthrone.
One of the UK’s leading purveyors of sludge, doom and stoner rock – Tuskar return exactly one year on with ‘The Tide, Beneath, The Wall’, earning them recognition with Kerrang! Magazine; selected in January’s ‘New Noise 2019’ edition and Kerrang! Rock Charts, alongside Decibel Magazine, Metal Hammer, Fire Magazine and more. The duo’s live shows are turning heads, already performing with the likes of Red Fang, Monolord, Jucifer, Pallbearer, Conan, as well as invited to perform at Desertfest London 2018 and HRH Stoner vs Doom in Sheffield in 2018.

In a world full of ever expanding realms of stoner and doom, it can be somewhat easy to get lost in the mire of it all. Thus, it is a comfort to know that a band such as Morag Tong exist. Ironically, when I first became somewhat smitten with Morag Tongs sound from the stupidly overlooked “Through Clouded Time” EP of 2016, they lived up to their name (see video game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) acting as a secret entity operating from the shadows, however it has become harder and harder over time for people to ignore the existence and ever looming presence of this band as they have continued to leave punters in awe at the sheer power embroiled within their sound.
