STAR TURBINE (Norway/Denmark)
The ace Scandanavian space-age improvisatory duo of Sindre (NOR) and Claus (DNK) return to Aphelion for a second visit and we are supremely happy to welcome them back again!
These guys create stunningly beautiful live ambient soundscapes to get completely lost in with elements of noise and musique concrète sonics thrown in to the mix for good measure. Two compelling performers who utilise an array of intriguing instrumentation and found objects to achieve their mission.

Ollie's subtle and dynamic improvised sonics are generated from PURE DATA software. Tones are manipulated to a variety of effects, able to create meditative calm states or hauntingly oppressive high-pitched cluster barrages. A masterfully minimalist approach that rewards patience and close attention.

SWIR
Tense, bewitching noised-up loops set adrift in the droneiverse, and Sonia's voice weaving and darting through the mix, resulting in highly individual compositions. Not to be missed.
